Newbury Carnival Public Meeting - 14-5-08 7.30pm

  • Do you have ideas about ways in which the future of Newbury’s Carnival can be secured?
  • Would you like to see a Carnival week or weekend and, if so, what would it include?
  • How can we get more big organisations involved in the Carnival?
  • How can we spread the load of organising the Carnival?

We’ll be looking at answers to these and other questions at our public meeting tomorrow – Wednesday 14th May, 7.30pm at Newbury Town Hall.

If you’d like to make a positive contribution to Newbury’s community spirit, we’d love to see you there

If you are planning to come it would be helpful if you could drop us a note via newburycarnival@googlemail.com (just so we can plan the refreshments!)

Whether or not you can come to the meeting, please use the comments facility below to post your thoughts and ideas. Don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of this page to view comments we received earlier this year.

Hello,

We have just read your message on Newbury.Net. The Donnington Castle Garrison, part of the Sealed knot Society would like to put on a skirmish/drill display possibly involving firing muskets and a cannon in your arena. Unlike the last carnival, we only had a few members from Newbury area turn up.

This time we were hoping to advertise Newbury carnival at a Society level, (advertising it to the whole of the Sealed knot membership). This will be a great show, marching with colours/flags flying, drums beating and camp follows and children following

We are a Newbury group so please do not hesitate in contacting us for help.

Regards
